Description
– new relays/PC boards for the audio cards in the Tascam 80-8 multitrack recorder
– the original relays are failing due to age, and cause intermittent/no audio and/or shifting audio levels at random while recording and playing back
– these new replacements are a direct drop-in for the existing relays. One relay PC board replaces the two relays on one channel
Caveats:
– you need to make sure that these relays are causing your audio problems. While failure now is common on these relays, they are not a ‘cure-all’ for worn heads or other audio path problems
– you do need good soldering/desoldering skills to remove the old relays. The PC boards are double sided and ‘brute force’ desoldering will likely damage the PC boards.
