As of Sept 8, 2026, the following changes came into effect without warning to bring repairs or sold tape decks into the US:
US citizens need to fill out A US customs form 5106, available as a download at the end of this article. Required information includes:
- Federal Tax ID# (the EIN# for companies or a Social Security Number for individuals)
- Physical Address
- Mailing Address if different
- Valid phone number of the Consignee
- Valid email address of the Consignee
The form is then emailed to: bondquestions@cbp.dhs.gov, with the email title of: NEW IMPORTER.
US customs will then assign the US citizen a CBP number, which is then sent to us at reeltoreeltech.com. We will then fill out the customs paperwork for processing to send your deck back to you. The paperwork usually takes a week to 10 days to process.

As of Sept 8, 2026, the tariff charge on all tape decks sold are 10% (with the exception of those made in the US), plus anywhere from around $80-150 US for the customs broker charges.
Note that decks delivered to us in Surrey BC, or those that come to us from within Canada are not affected by the new rules stated above.
